Under immediate effect, Twitter has appointed Linda Yaccarino as its new CEO. Yaccarino is an experienced expert in the field of advertising who has worked in executive capacities at NBCUniversal and Turner Broadcasting System Inc. She is recognised for having contributed to the increase in NBCUniversal’s advertising income to about $10 billion.
Twitter’s board of directors declared in a statement that Yaccarino is “a proven leader with a deep understanding of the advertising industry.” Additionally, they said she is “the right person to lead Twitter into its next chapter of growth.”
Yaccarino takes over for Jack Dorsey, who was Twitter’s chairman and CEO. The board of directors will continue to include Dorsey.
Yaccarino will encounter a variety of difficulties in her new position at Twitter. Other social media sites like Facebook and Instagram are posing a greater threat to the business. Additionally, there is pressure on it to enhance user experience and address worries about its part in disseminating false information.
But Yaccarino has a track record of success and a comprehensive understanding of the advertising sector. She is in an outstanding position to guide Twitter towards its next phase of expansion.
