The Securities and Exchange Board of India has been given until August 14 to complete its probe into claims made against the Adani group by US short-seller Hindenburg Research. This extension has been granted by the Supreme Court.

The extension is less than the six months that the regulator requested. The top court further ordered Sebi to submit a particular report on its inquiry into claims that some Adani entities had violated the requirements for minimum public shareholding.
