The Kerala Story, a national phenomenon dogged by controversy, opened on more than 200 screens in the US and Canada on Friday. According to the film’s director, Sudipto Sen, the objective of the film transcends the creative limitations of cinema.
“The nation was denying the long-running problem in the state of Kerala. Sen informed a group of Indian American reporters during a virtual press conference that “The Kerala Story is a mission that goes beyond the creative boundaries of cinema, a movement that should reach the masses all over the world and raise awareness.”
