Steps taken to rescue Tamils in Manipur: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin’s action

The Meitei people living in Manipur had demanded that they be accorded the status accorded to Scheduled Tribes. This was opposed by the Kuki organization. Later, intense violence took place between these two parties and the state itself was on fire. Therefore, the central government is providing military security in the state.

Many people have lost their homes and belongings due to this violence. Currently, due to the extraordinary situation prevailing there, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has issued an order to take steps to rescue the stranded Tamils.

He also said that the Tamil Nadu government will take action for their protection through the representatives of the Manipur government and the Tamil Sangh.
