RCB was eliminated from contention for the IPL 2023 Playoffs after losing by six wickets against Gujarat Titans in the last league stage game on Sunday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Virat Kohli’s record-breaking eighth IPL century helped the club reach 197 before RCB slipped up. However, the Titans, set up the chase with a brilliant counter-attacking knock from Shubman Gill and notched 20 points from 14 matches.
Mumbai Indians were able to secure their spot in the IPL Playoffs with a fourth-place finish due to RCB’s loss. In 16 editions, MI achieved their tenth Playoff qualification.
Tuesday’s Qualifier 1 will feature GT vs. Chennai Super Kings, and Wednesday’s Qualifier2 will see Lucknow Super Giants vs. MI in Chennai.
