India recently forcefully denounced Pakistan’s sponsorship for terrorism at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Regional Meet. At the summit, the Indian delegation issued a crystal-clear, unequivocal declaration demanding swift action against all kinds of terrorism and those who support it.
Representatives from member nations meet annually at the SCO Regional Meet to debate and address issues of regional significance, including as security and economic cooperation.
S. Jaishankar, India’s minister of external affairs, emphasised the need for a unified front in the fight against terrorism and those who support it during the summit. He urged the SCO to take stern measures against those who employ terrorism as a tool of statecraft.
The Indian team also emphasised Pakistan’s ongoing assistance to terrorist organisations operating in India and the surrounding area. They pleaded with the international community to hold Pakistan responsible for its deeds and to act forcefully in the fight against terrorism.
