Lunch hosted by PM Modi at FIPIC Summit , Millet as main Ingredient

The leaders attending the third India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) Summit in Papua New Guinea today had lunch sponsored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Millets and Indian cuisine were significant ingredients in the mouthwatering treats on the menu.

Khandvi, a well-known dish from PM Modi’s native Gujarat, Malai Kofta (cottage cheese and vegetable balls simmered in aromatic Indian rich kofta curry), Vegetable Kolhapuri (highland mix vegetables cooked with traditional Indian onion-tomato gravy), and Dal Panchmel (special lentil mix prepared in Mewar style) were all featured in the memorable lunch.

The Indian delegation made sure that the oldest foods known to people (millet)  to be  provided to the summit’s leaders as 2023 has been designated as the International Year of Millets.
